The Republican Party and its Future:
After the loss of more Republican members of Congress this should serve as a wake up call towards the parties future direction. In order for the Republican party to regain the peoples confidence then it must focus on the issues of smaller government and less taxes. The Republicans must reconnect with the independent and centralist voters who are fiscally conservative but socially progressive with a strong national security. This means that it must be more progressive and modernize to embrace the big tent philosophy on social issues that can attract libertarians again. Most importantly the Republican Party must regain credibility on fiscal issues like a balanced budget and a flat tax. It is crucial for the future of the party to start reaching out and win over the younger generation of new voters. With that in mind I thank the best choice for R.N.C. Chairman is Michael Steele, he is someone that can reach out to the next generation of leaders.
If history is any guide, I am hopeful the Republicans will be able to gain seats during the 2010 election cycle. Historically, the American people tend to vote for the minority party after one party has been in control of both the Executive and Legislative branch of government. I am one that tends to believe that our country is governed best when one political party controls the executive and another political party controls the legislative branch of government, were this tends to keep the power in check. On a personal note I would like to extend my support to the Democratic majority in the hope of working together in the best interest of the American people. Please contact me with any comments or concerns you may have. I would very much welcome any support you can give at this time.

Best Regards!

I thank you for visiting my blog your comments and suggestions are most important to me. It is my goal to build a grass roots network of fiscal conservatives throughout Maryland and the Nation. As we work to end one party rule in Maryland by restoring fiscal accountability in the State House.
Respectfully Yours!
